Sharing Web 2.0 links on Conrad Teacher Web Pages

How can we share our Podcasts and VoiceThreads with our students and their families?

During this session we will add a links module to our teacher web pages that are connected to the Conrad Web Site. Here are the general directions to use when you want to change your teacher page:

  • Login to SchoolNet
  • Click --> Outreach --> Online Classroom --> Letter of your last name --> Your name
  • At bottom left, click --> Edit Page

Here are some resources that will help with creating VoiceThreads and Podcasts

Closure: Please add a comment: How will you encourage your students to share their online work with their family?

If students are interested in the pod-casts that they are working on in class, and teachers encourage them to share at home, hopefully they will share their good work.

I can use the schoolnet page to better organize my classes.

Students love to share their creations. Once they know they can do this they will want to share their creations.

More interesting ways for students to show their work.

Completed work can be added to the web site in Links, or Student Work Ready to View. This could be photos of artwork as well as web work.

Leveraging my outreach resources will allow students to easily find and share their work. Podcasts, VoiceCasts or any other Web 2.0 resource utilized in my classroom can be linked via my Outreach techer page.

By using schoolnet, students will be encouraged to show the site to their parents.

Since students love to show their accomplishments, it would be easy to encourage parents to view them. I would send email as I do for other things and I am sure parents will view.

I can post students work on either schoolnet or my website to share with parents and so students can look back at it to review what they have done.

I plan on creating a opportunity for my students to create podcasts. I love Dr. Pic. The tools and layout are both very ideal for our age students. I'm digging it!

If students have internet access at home, then they could share with their parents.

This seems like a great way to better organize my class, give students an opportunity to find things, become more involved in their learning.
By using podcasts, can visualize more opportunities for student to shine. Also, then being able to share with family and friends.

I can use the schoolnet page to inform students and families about things we are doing in class.

I post my class notes on my schoolnet. I encourage my students to view them at home and try to teach their parents what they learned in class. Becoming the teacher is an excellent way for them to own the material.
